FAQI've been meaning to do this for a long time, and boy howdy is it long!!!  It's organized into a few different categories. I'll update as needed.  This may be repetitive to some, illuminating to others, and completely boring and useless to others still.

Q:  How can I get a job in animation?
The absolute best thing you can do to get into animation as a career is to go to art school.  Not only will you learn how to draw and how to SEE, you will meet people, students and teachers alike, who will give you new perspectives and will likely be the sources of your future jobs.  (My first job came from one of my teachers.)  
There are several schools that have fantastic animation programs that cover all facets of the atr form.  Schools like the one I attended, CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS, will teach you animation (2D and 3D,) character design, storyboarding, bac

EDIT:  Thanks for the info on reindeer gender-antler technicalities.  I did learn this in my teens, but I just kind of enjoy drawing the deer as white-tails like I did as a kid.  I know it's incorrect, but the nostalgia factor is more fun for me.  Merry Christmas fellow biology nerds!
When I was would little, my obsessive love for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer would inspire me to draw Santa's eight reindeer to string together for Christmas decorations around the house.  Even as a kid, I wanted some of the reindeer to be girls (it only seemed fair) and Dancer, Vixen and Cupid where always featured without antlers to show Santa didn't discriminate against the does!

Because I'm Sick of Getting Asked...No. I am not married. I was engaged, but called it off a few months ago. It's been a tough last several months, as it wasn't an easy decision to make in my life. Please be respectful and please stop asking me about my personal life. I don't understand why it matters. I'm still a human being with feelings and emotions.
Hopefully this puts this question to rest.

Season Wrap UpWell, season 2 has finally come to a close,  and I'm sitting here and looking back on it all, with a few thoughts I want to share.
I just want to say thank you (again) to everyone that watched and enjoyed the MLP season finale this weekend.  There were lots of hard nights and long hours from all of us on the DHX crew to make it the best would possibly could.  Of course, there are things that are always going to be imperfect, but overall from what I gather, it seemed well-received.
I was also shocked at how many people recognized my OC pony that made a small cameo in this weekend's episode.  As a blanket response to a lot of the same questions I've been getting all weekend: No, I did not voice her and I'm unsure as to who did.  I would assume just one of the regular VA's.  She was put in kind of last minute.  The artist who drew her in the storyboard, made her look like my pony (just a coincidence), and after seeing i
Quickie update-- thanks and apologiesHey all---- I thought I'd come up for air for a few seconds to give a quick update.
I've been seeing lots of comments asking about why I don't answer messages or post more art.  I want to offer my apologies.  I just get so, so many notes, and my work is especially demanding these days.  To top it all off, the last 6 months have been kind of rough for me personally and the combination of all these elements just means I don't have the time to answer.
Still, I want to thank every one for the constant supply of kind words, inspiring stories and compliments.  I do get to read most of your notes (I think--- I hope!!) and the vast majority are so thoughtful.  And with the kind of year I've had, it really lifts my spirits.
I'm hoping that by the end of the year, maybe during Thanksgiving or Christmas break, I'll be able to put together an FAQ.  Lots of people ask for advice on how to get into animation, and I plan on answering that on
On the Dismantling of American LibertySo, last time I posted a bill that was going through the Senate, I got a lot of people writing comments like, "They'll never pass this."  "I trust the government."  "They would never do something that stupid."
Because of that, I decided not to post this one before it went through the senate.  Unfortunately, it passed by a huuge margin.

I think I have an answer.I'm going to move.
It won't be right away. I have some unfinished business to take care of first.
When I go, I will be leaving the MLP fandom behind. I will be devoting my time and energy to my own work. The fanbase as a whole has been good to me, but it has become a personal burden as well. I cannot do MLP fanart for the rest of my life. At least not in the intense and prolific way I do now. I need a substantial body of work I can honestly call my own. This entire name, sweatshirt, is too closely tied to MLP to ever be truly free of it. I need, and want, to start over in light of this change.
I'll give a link to my new account when I go, but I must make it clear that once I've moved to that account, I won't be a pony artist anymore. I don't want anyone to re-watch me expecting MLP fanart, or coming and hounding me about why I don't draw it anymore, or asking me my opinions on fandom issues. First off - is it just me or did this episode start off with the theme song to Robotech? :XD: Also, speaking from an artistic perspective, it's wonderful to finally get to see Canterlot's backgrounds (it'll make it easier to destroy it later in the Ballad of Mecha - whoops! - heh heh)
Teasing aside, I love how we're finally starting to see more musical numbers in the show. After seven episodes of - well - nothing - it's wonderful to see these ponies singing and dancing again. This episode was one of my favorites too - great story (excellent twist with all the other ponies showing up in Canterlot to surprise Rarity). It's finally finished! It's been several months in the making, and took the dedicated efforts of some very passionate people to complete.
For those of you who may not know, Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony is a documentary (Produced by Michael Brockhoff, Executive Produced by John de Lancie, Tara Strong and myself) that endeavors to enlighten anyone who may be curious about who this unexpected fandom is comprised of, and just exactly why these adults are so passionate about something that was never intended for them.

A Quick Note on Fan ArtHey everypony!
Lately I've been getting some fan art of my OC Pony Wild Fire, and I must say I love it all, and they are all so amazing!  However, I also find that a lot of the time, the people who do all this great artwork never let me know about it personally.  I'm not sure why this is, I sure hope it's not because people might think I'll get mad about it - quite the opposite, really.  I tend to stumble on drawings and fan art on the internet and sometimes those images don't give credit back to the artist at hand, which doesn't allow me to say thank you personally.
SO.
What I'm trying to say is this; if you DO fan art of my stuff, please let me know!  Link it to me, show it to me...if you don't, there's a good chance I may never ever see it.  I have a folder on my desktop just for that sort of thing.  I technically don't own Wild Fire anymore (don't think I ever did, really!), so there's no need to ask permissi

This year has been full of crazy ups and downs for me, unfortunately more downs than ups - but that happens sometimes. Been going thru a lot of HUGE life changes in the past short while and I want to extend my thanks again to EVERYONE who has supported me throughout all this. It means more than you'll ever know. Here's looking to a brighter new year and to starting over.
I'll be leaving for Christmas vacation tomorrow and won't be back till just after the new year, so again, I wish you all a very happy Christmas and safe New Year.
