WLC Brony Thank You Party is growing!

Tue Apr 30, 2013, 9:44 PM
So... many of you may know that I've been helping my friends at Wildlife Learning Center raise money for the their Indiegogo campaign for badly needed funds to care for their amazing wild animals. (If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, take a gander at my previous journal post here.)

We have an interesting development as far as incentives go. To recap, in addition to the great donation incentives offered at the Indiegogo site, for each $10,000 raised, WLC is naming one of their animals after MLP pets, and so far, we've raised enough to name a rabbit ANGEL and a salcuta tortoise TANK. Thanks to all who helped donate or spread the word!

If we should reach our ultimate goal of $48,000, WLC will host a Thank You Bronies party at their center in Sylmar, CA with me and Tara Strong---- but as of today, some more MLP staffers have offered to join the party!

AMY KEATING ROGERS, CINDY MORROW and MEGHAN MCCARTHY!

That's 5 MLP staffers, all in one place waiting around to talk to any brony who can make their way to Los Angeles for an afternoon. But we got to get all the way to $48,000 to make it happen!

If you live nearby --or close enough for the visit-- and want come see us and the animals, please spread the word and help us raise the funds WLC desperately needs! There is only 3 days left!!

We all hope (I mean, really, really hope!) to see you there!

I love you Faust :D You've created my childhood and made it come to life thanks to PPG. And, I like your new show MLP:FiM, but dont you think your giving the Bronies TOO much credit ? Theres more MLP fans than just Bronies :c

Bronies refers to all fans of mlp not just males or any other type of fan. All of us. :) I'm rose and I'm a brony.

yup yup. Bronies is an androgynous term for anypony who is a fan of MLP. It just so happened to get started with "bros" A lot of females like to say pegasisters but I think it's derogatory personally. It makes it out that as a female you are required to be a pegasus or something, setting some sort of standard. I dunno call me weird but that's my view on the subject, it just seems rude.

I guess the term "Pegasister" is referred to females with a Pegasus OC. Pinkie Pie EyeFlutter

I suppose? They're never really clear but when I talk to a 'Pegasister' they seem to use it as a reference to females as a whole as though they are separate from the fandom. It makes me sad.

But I don't want to be called a "bro"...I'm a girl and calling us all "bronies" is like if the population of MLP fans was mostly female and we were all referred to as "pegasisters" as a whole. Then the guys would feel bad. I don't even like the term pegasisters.

I've been doing everything I can do without donating money, since I have none. But is there anyway to extend the deadline? And if we can't get the money, what will happen to the WLC?
